Given that most cost proposals include a 10-15% contingency, and lack of early involvement from builders increases the likelihood of of project variations (typically 15-20% of contract value), a traditional procurement approach rarely proves to be the most cost effective in the long run. On the other hand, involving a building partner early in the process allows the opportunity to find better, cheaper ways of doing things and leading to cost certainty much earlier in the project and, ultimately, a more cost-effective result.

You can save significant time and costs over the course of a project by getting the brief, design and buildability right from the start. On ‘Design & Construct’ projects, we work closely with our clients and design team to create considered, buildable and practical designs. Pre-empting challenges and focusing on feasibility in the design phase enables us to offer our clients greater cost certainty and peace of mind throughout the project.
