The iconic Christmas tree has become a landmark during this time of the year. It also carries memories from years before; no matter what happens, you can bet there is an enormous Christmas tree waiting for you to make a wish upon. So, who is behind the masterpiece?
Box & Co delivers the installation of this iconic Christmas tree and has done every year since 2021. We are ready to create magic again!
Behind the Scenes: The Design and Installation Process
The King George Square Christmas Tree is more than just a festive symbol—it’s a blend of engineering precision, creative design, and seamless teamwork.
From 18 to 22 November 2024, our Box & Co team will meticulously assemble this 22-metre-tall centrepiece, reflecting our unwavering commitment to Quality and Reliability.
Every stage of the installation—from securing the structural frame to placing the final star—is planned with precision. This collaborative effort embodies the spirit of Brisbane, transforming King George Square while ensuring minimal disruption to the bustling city around us.
Engineering Excellence Meets Holiday Magic
The King George Square Christmas Tree is a combination of innovation and sustainability. Here are some fun facts:
- The tree stands 22 metres tall and weighs over 6 Tonnes!
- Its crown features a 4-metre steel star, intricately designed with programmable LED lights.
- Sustainability is at the heart of this installation with a 3kW solar power system on the roof of the King George Square Deck.
- With 150+ decorations, including gold stars, candy canes, and chrome baubles, the tree reflects the diversity and vibrancy of Brisbane.
- 8,640 LED lights bring the tree to life, with dynamic lighting movements adding a touch of magic to the display.
