A major part of the project was the installation of new Alucobond cladding to the existing multi-level façade. This created a number of challenges, including managing a restricted site, access for cranes and multi-level scaffolding within an operating university environment.
The refurbishment of the building’s podium level included high-grade carpentry and joinery works, resulting in a spectacular finish whilst remaining extremely functional.
Box & Co’s ‘O Block’ overhaul earned the team a Queensland Housing & Construction Award in 2014.
